For my chefs choice, I decided to revisit the surrealism project. I really enjoyed this project and how there was no limit on creativity. This was a shot I turned surreal of a forest in Big Sun.

These are three RAW photos that I touched up in Lightroom. I will show the raw image then the image after post production.

In my own personal opinion, I think that the side of the face that shows the most emotion varies depending on the person. Everybody is different, and everyone expresses emotions differently. This includes the way people express emotion through facial features. For this project, I agree with the articles stating that the left side of he face shows the most emotion. But I think this could just be subjective to Bryden. Someone else my show emotion either with threat whole face or just the right side.

Line is shown in the scattered light painting image. Shape is shown by the shape of the wave. Form is shown by the boulders in big sur that my friends were napping on. Space is shown by the negative space in the street sign photo. Color is shown also in the light painting photo. Value is shown in the the stormy photo of the lighthouse. Textures shown by the image of the carvings in a log. Balance is shown by the photo of the descending trees. Harmony is shown by the image of the two deer. Rhythm is shown in the image go my friends band. Movement is shown in the photo of my Dad surfing with a bird flying over his head. Emphasis is shown by the photo of the sun over my friends head. Contrast is shown in the image of my friend on a broken down mini van. Variety is shown in the image of the big sur waterfall. Unity is shown in the photo of the forest. Proportion is also shown in the photo of the small deer standing next to the big deer.

Static Dynamic The first image displays static composition, because its a straight on shot taken from ground level looking straight forward at a person standing straight up. The focal point of the image is the firework. My second image displays static composition by looking out across the horizon with the sunset lines gleaming across the water. I think the focal point is the lighthouse. My third image displays dynamic composition by looking up at the street sign from below. Also there is telephone wires going diagonally across the image. The focal point is the cross section of the signs. My fourth and final image displays dynamic composition because theres branches and trees staggered out across the frame. I would say the focal point is the gleaming sunset.

The rule of thirds or "rule of thumb' is a guideline which applies to the composition of images, videos, or painting. In the first image the focal point is the sight. In the second image the eye is drawn to the part of the leaf in focus on the left side. And lastly in the third image the eye draws to the crowd centered in the image, but mainly to the hands in the air hanging over everybody.

                                         ISO PROJECT Aperture controls the brightness of your image, and the amount of light that gets passed through your lens onto the sensor. Your aperture or f-number also controls the amount of depth of field your image has. The lower f stop lets as much light pass through your lens as possible creating a very deep depth of field ex: 1.4. The higher your f stop the less light thats getting passed through your lens creating a shallow depth of field ex:22.  Shutter speed or exposure time controls the amount of motion your image captures. It controls the time your sensor is exposed to light. for example the longer your shutter is open the more amount of motion the image will capture. if you use a very fast shutter speed it will make your subject (if its an action shot) appear frozen in time.
